Family Medicine Specialist

About the role

NMC Healthcare is hiring a Specialist in Family Medicine in Abu Dhabi. The role centres on delivering professional, ethical and high-quality clinical care, managing clinical risks, complying with governance standards and keeping accurate medical records, while pursuing continuous professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, professional and ethical clinical services to patients efficiently and effectively.
• Monitor and manage clinical risks linked to direct patient care.
• Ensure compliance with clinical governance and quality management standards.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collect, record and maintain patient information such as medical history, reports and examination results.
• Order diagnostic laboratory and X-ray examinations, determine diagnoses, prescribe therapy and preventive medicine, and prescribe or administer treatment, medication and vaccinations.
• Immunize patients and refer them to specialists or other practitioners when needed.
• Review journals and textbooks to stay current on techniques, procedures and therapy.
• Take part in continuing in-service training and physician conferences.

Required profile

• At least 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience at specialist level (independent of country).
• At least 1 year of specialist-level experience from a Tier 1 country as defined by the UAE healthcare regulator.
• Basic medical degree and completion of a specialty qualification or fellowship/diploma recognised by the UAE authority.
• Certification and registration in a specialty recognised by the UAE authority, with eligibility for registration (e.g. Royal College membership, Arab Board certification, MS, DM, MPhil or equivalent).
• Active and valid life support certification (e.g. BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS, NRP).
