Field Engineer Subsea Sleeper Installation

About the role

Black & Grey HR is seeking a Field Engineer to join the offshore and subsea operations team in Abu Dhabi. The engineer will supervise the installation of sleepers, mattresses, risers, grout bags and other subsea components, working on a 60‑day on / 30‑day off rotation with shore‑based duties between deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise offshore installation activities for sleepers, mattresses, risers, grout bags and related subsea equipment.
• Monitor installation quality, conduct inspections and provide technical guidance to crews.
• Coordinate vessel positioning and equipment deployment with marine operations.
• Track daily progress, ensure productivity targets and maintain accurate documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, support troubleshooting and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with client specifications, project procedures, technical standards and HSE requirements.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and emergency response procedures.
• Interface with on‑shore engineering and project teams for technical coordination.
• Assist with mobilisation of marine units, including documentation and personnel readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience in offshore or subsea installation projects is preferred.
• Ability to work on a rotating offshore schedule.
