Financial Controlling Manager – GBS, Dubai

About the role

As a Financial Controlling Manager within the Global Business Services (GBS) division, you will lead the development and implementation of accounting policies, internal controls, and automation initiatives to ensure high‑quality financial reporting for the division.

Key responsibilities

• Support Group and Divisional Policy and Advisory Head in creating and standardising internal control frameworks.
• Draft, review and roll out divisional accounting policies, ensuring compliance with IAS/IFRS.
• Design and deliver training sessions on accounting standards and policies to Finance & Operations teams.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting judgments and stay current with evolving standards.
• Identify accounting risks, advise on positions, and drive balance‑sheet substantiation processes.
• Coordinate with Shared Service Centres and Business Unit finance teams for timely period‑close activities.
• Monitor and improve SSF KPI/SLA performance, conduct trial‑balance reviews, and maintain issue controls.
• Support audit planning, track progress, and liaise with auditors for certifications and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee the adoption of AI and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of IAS, IFRS and corporate accounting standards.
• Experience developing and implementing internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to provide advisory support on complex accounting matters.
• Hands‑on experience with balance‑sheet substantiation and financial period‑close processes.
• Familiarity with audit coordination and preparation of standalone/consolidated financial statements.
• Ability to train and communicate accounting concepts to cross‑functional teams.
