Fixed Asset Accountant

About the role

The Fixed Asset Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy, integrity and completeness of Emarat’s Fixed Asset Register and related accounting records. The role ensures proper capitalization, tracking, depreciation and reporting of all Property, Plant and Equipment (PPE) in compliance with IAS 16, IFRS 16 and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including capital work‑in‑progress, asset capitalization, depreciation and disposals.
• Validate capitalization requests and ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal policies.
• Perform asset transfers, retirements, disposals and related journal entries.
• Conduct asset verification, physical counts and reconciliation to financial statements.
• Prepare asset‑related disclosures for financial reporting and support audit activities.
• Support development and maintenance of asset accounting policies and procedures.
• Drive automation and process improvements within Oracle Fusion Fixed Assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline (Master’s or professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA preferred).
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Fixed Asset accounting, preferably within an ERP environment.
• Strong knowledge of IAS 16, IFRS 16 and related financial reporting requirements.
