Founding Senior Computer Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a founding senior computer engineer to lead the development and scaling of our AI‑driven computer‑vision platform. You will own the end‑to‑end pipeline that ingests camera feeds, detects and tracks players, performs OCR, classifies events and delivers reporting for both the existing football analytics product and a new industry application.

Key responsibilities

• Own the shared CV platform end‑to‑end, including camera ingestion, detection & tracking, OCR, classification and reporting pipelines.
• From day one ship improvements to live sports models while architecting deployment for a second industry on the same stack.
• Define architecture decisions: model selection, training strategy, annotation and dataset operations, evaluation methodology, and on‑prem/cloud split.
• Deploy the first implementations for the new industry and harden both products as a unified platform.
• Provide technical leadership for the engineering team built under you.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building production‑ready computer‑vision systems.
• Proven track record of deploying systems used by real users, not just prototypes.
• Strong ownership temperament: turn vague operational goals into working systems without waiting for detailed specifications.

Required skills

• Python
• PyTorch
• Modern detection/tracking frameworks (YOLO family, ByteTrack, DeepSORT or equivalents)
• Video pipeline expertise (RTSP/IP cameras, streaming inference, ffmpeg)
• Dataset creation, annotation workflows, and rigorous model evaluation
• Fine‑tuning open‑source models (detection, OCR such as PaddleOCR, TrOCR) and developing custom models
• Experience with CV tooling ecosystems (Roboflow or similar, experiment tracking, model registries)
