Freighter Scheduling Manager

About the role

Emirates SkyCargo, a world leader in air cargo serving over 140 destinations across six continents, is hiring a Freighter Scheduling Manager in Dubai. The role schedules short-term and long-term freighter flights to optimise aircraft utilisation while meeting commercial requirements, slot constraints at Level 2 and 3 airports, maintenance and crewing needs. It also involves devising annual operating plans for the freighter network.

Key responsibilities

• Devise annual operating plans for the freighter fleet, considering current and future capacity, and communicate them to internal departments in a timely way.
• Manage slot constraints at key airports, maintain historic slots and secure the most desired slots to protect commercial advantage.
• Develop a freighter hub at DWC airport that offers optimal transit times for east-to-west traffic, respects infrastructure limits and is scalable for future fleet additions.
• Plan for A and C maintenance checks at DXB, covering Emirates' own operations and wet-lease providers, without affecting schedule integrity.
• Integrate the scheduling system with AirVision Sabre, and link it to systems such as SkyChain, CORE, LIDO, POWER and RPS so operating plans are implemented quickly.
• Work with IT and other departments to build and improve operating plan systems, and continuously improve automated schedule dissemination.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to obtain and renew operating permits and approvals for scheduled and ad-hoc flights.
• Liaise with Crewing to analyse crew complexities and ensure scheduled and ad-hoc flights are adequately crewed.
• Carry out cost and revenue analysis for each schedule diversion and new rotation to support profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or honours with professional knowledge of airline/cargo operations.
• Completed all relevant industry- and airline-approved advanced cargo acceptance, handling and load planning courses.
• In-depth knowledge of strategic planning for air cargo and its key influencing factors.

Required skills

• Knowledge and experience of scheduling systems.
• Advanced knowledge of cargo systems and MS Office packages.
