General Technician

About the role

The General Technician will support the maintenance, functionality, safety and presentation of facilities and equipment at an exclusive luxury destination in Abu Dhabi. Working closely with the Maintenance, Security, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and other departments, you will carry out a variety of preventive and corrective tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, inspections and technical support across the premises, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, HVAC and fixtures.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, breakdowns, defects and urgent technical issues, and complete preventive maintenance according to approved schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, public areas, offices and service areas, identifying safety hazards, defects and potential equipment failures.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager and senior technicians with repairs, installations, adjustments, testing of equipment and improvement projects.
• Maintain tools, spare parts and work materials in good condition and keep accurate records of work performed.
• Coordinate with other departments to complete work efficiently with minimal disruption.
• Support compliance with health, safety, fire‑safety, environmental and organisational requirements.

Required profile

• Technical certificate, vocational qualification or equivalent experience in Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, HVAC, Carpentry or a related field.
• Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities support or building services.
• Basic knowledge of multiple maintenance disciplines and strong troubleshooting and practical problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of workplace safety and fire‑safety requirements.
• Ability to work flexible hours, weekends and public holidays and respond to urgent matters.
