General Technician - Staff Accommodation

About the role

We are seeking a reliable General Technician to join the staff accommodation team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara in Abu Dhabi. The role involves maintaining a safe, comfortable living environment for team members by handling a variety of maintenance tasks across the accommodation facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive and corrective maintenance on staff accommodation buildings.
• Address maintenance requests covering electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and air‑conditioning systems.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms, common areas, and equipment to identify issues.
• Carry out AC cleaning, basic servicing and preventive maintenance.
• Execute minor electrical repairs, plumbing works, painting and other general upkeep.
• Respond promptly to maintenance complaints and emergencies.
• Maintain tools, equipment and materials in good condition.
• Report major defects and support specialised contractors when needed.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean and adhere to health, safety and hygiene policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician or similar role.
• Hands‑on knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, air‑conditioning, painting and general maintenance.
• Experience in staff accommodation, hotel, resort or residential environments.
• Ability to work in a remote location and adapt to operational needs.
