Graduate Project Engineer – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate to join Penspen’s Abu Dhabi team as a Graduate Project Engineer. The role supports senior Project Engineers in planning, monitoring and reporting on oil & gas projects, helping to build the UAE’s national talent pool.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project schedules, control registers and progress measurement systems.
• Monitor project milestones and KPIs, flagging any slippages.
• Produce graphs, diagrams and other visual aids to illustrate progress and cost status for clients and internal teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered within contractual duration and budget, identifying potential variations.
• Coordinate with team members to keep activities on track and report potential delays.
• Prepare and track invoices according to invoicing procedures.
• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports as required by the client.
• Participate in project progress review meetings.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Understanding of standard project handling practices and international codes, standards and regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Hands‑on experience with planning tools such as Primavera v6.0 and MS Project.
