Grants Administrator – Provost (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Grants Administrator – Provost will oversee the financial management of research grants across the university, ensuring accurate budgeting, expenditure tracking, and compliance with internal and external funding requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and review monthly expenditures for faculty, research institute, and external grants, comparing them to approved budgets.
• Meet regularly with Principal Investigators to discuss awarded funds and coordinate with HR, Finance, Budget Office, IT, and other support units.
• Utilise financial systems such as FAME, Project Costing, UDW+, BIA, CF authorization, and Cayuse to update accounts and maintain grant databases.
• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to project directors, senior management, and funding entities.
• Assist in the set‑up of new grants, processing academic HR affairs, and supporting the Hyperion budgeting process for university‑wide research activities.
• Develop budget presentations, support multi‑year grant budgeting, and lead external research engagements.
• Contribute to policy development, expense reimbursement processing, and the creation of accurate expenditure projections.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; additional professional education in accounting, finance, data management, or research administration is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse university stakeholders.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply university policies and procedures.
