Group Chief Accountant

About the role

Based in our Dubai head office, the Group Chief Accountant partners closely with the Group Finance Director to lead accounting operations across multiple African jurisdictions. This high‑visibility position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance, and governance for a fast‑growing organization operating in Africa and the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end group accounting activities for all entities and jurisdictions.
• Set up new entities in line with group standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Manage monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation and financial reporting processes.
• Ensure financial statements comply with IFRS, OHADA and local GAAP.
• Coordinate and lead external audits across African entities, acting as the primary auditor liaison.
• Supervise intercompany reconciliations and balance‑sheet governance.
• Drive tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions with local advisors.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, ERP enhancements and reporting automation projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CA preferred.
• Extensive experience in group accounting, consolidations and audit management within a multi‑country environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, statutory compliance, tax coordination and internal controls.
• Proven ability to work across Africa and multicultural settings.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and organizational skills.
