Group Financial Controller – Africa Region

About the role

Based in Dubai, the Group Financial Controller – Africa Region will safeguard the financial integrity of OBT’s African entities. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will lead financial reporting, control, compliance and cash‑flow governance across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for all African entities.
• Maintain accurate financial statements and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure consistent application of group accounting policies, IFRS/OHADA/local GAAP.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and act as regional audit liaison.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, banking arrangements and working‑capital performance.
• Partner with operations on pricing, contracts, tenders and risk management.
• Drive improvements in finance systems, processes, controls and reporting efficiency.
• Lead, coach and develop finance teams across the region.

Required profile

• Strong experience in financial and cost control within a multi‑country environment.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax and internal controls.
• Proven audit and regulatory management experience in emerging markets.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; CPA, ACCA or CIMA preferred.
• Extensive experience working across Africa and multicultural settings.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across the continent.
• High attention to detail, governance mindset and strong leadership.
