Head Mixologist – ION Cocktail Bar

About the role

The ION Cocktail Bar at JW Marriott Dubai is seeking a dynamic Head Mixologist to lead its beverage team. You will be responsible for delivering exceptional cocktail experiences while ensuring smooth daily operations and high standards of service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the bar team to provide optimal guest service.
• Inspect staff grooming, attire, and overall presentation, correcting any deficiencies.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including setup of supplies, equipment cleaning, and securing the venue.
• Maintain organized storage areas, enforce FIFO practices, and ensure cleanliness.
• Conduct regular inventories, stock requisitions, and manage supply levels.
• Monitor dining areas for seating availability, safety, and guest wellbeing.
• Create and process work orders for maintenance and repairs.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee coaching.
• Uphold company safety, security, and quality policies, reporting incidents as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior mixology or bar management role.
• Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high service standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Required skills

• Inventory management and stock control.
• FIFO (First‑In‑First‑Out) inventory handling.
• Bar equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
