Head Nurse – Veterinary Practice

About the role

We are seeking a Head Nurse to lead veterinary nursing at our Groomy Pet clinic in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will oversee all nursing activities, support the veterinary team, and ensure high‑quality care for small animals.

Key responsibilities

• Assist veterinary team and physiotherapist before, during and after consultations.
• Lead and mentor nursing staff, manage scheduling and workflow.
• Provide customer service during clinic visits.
• Perform anesthetic nursing, including induction and recovery.
• Conduct surgical nursing and manage patient admission, discharge and monitoring.
• Carry out medical nursing tasks such as catheter placement, blood draws, basic laboratory analysis and radiology.
• Monitor hospitalized and boarded pets.
• Collaborate with colleagues to foster teamwork and implement management protocols.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid veterinary nursing license/certification.
• Proven experience in clinic operations, staff scheduling and health‑safety compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication and client‑interaction abilities.
