Head of Communications & Public Affairs

About the role

The Head of Communications & Public Affairs will lead the department in promoting Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi’s brand, shaping internal and external messaging, and supporting the university’s strategic objectives through integrated communication and public affairs initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Communications & Public Affairs strategy aligned with the university’s strategic plan.
• Provide leadership to the team, manage day‑to‑day operations, and foster professional development.
• Maintain and enhance the university’s brand image across all markets and media channels.
• Design, execute, and assess internal communication programs to keep staff informed of key initiatives.
• Oversee external communication, media relations, and content publishing on the university website.
• Support the Vice Chancellor in building relationships with local and international communities, government officials, and media.
• Design and manage community outreach programs and endowment campaigns.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a communications or public affairs function, preferably in higher education.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate university goals into communication plans.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to guide and develop a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for diverse stakeholder groups.
