Head of Communications, Turkey

About the role

TikTok is seeking a Head of Communications for Turkey to shape and execute the company’s external reputation, narrative, and stakeholder engagement in the market. Based in the UAE with regular travel to Turkey, you will work within a regional team covering the Middle East, Africa, South & Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the communications and PR strategy for Turkey, aligning with regional and global priorities.
• Craft Turkey‑specific narratives that balance trust & safety with storytelling on economic, social, and cultural impact.
• Design campaigns that support business and reputation goals, with clear metrics and accountability.
• Integrate policy and communications, collaborating with Government Relations and Public Policy to anticipate regulatory risks.
• Provide market intelligence and guidance to senior leaders on Turkish media, cultural, and policy landscapes.
• Lead issue and crisis response, identifying risks and coordinating rapid, high‑quality replies.
• Secure and manage high‑impact speaking, media, and stakeholder opportunities.
• Maintain an active network of senior journalists, editors, and influencers.
• Track media, policy, and industry developments to spot opportunities and early risk signals.
• Drive cross‑functional alignment with communications, GR, legal, trust & safety, and global teams.
• Manage PR and agency partners, ensuring quality, accuracy, and speed.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in communications or public relations within high‑stakes environments.
• Deep understanding of the Turkish media, geopolitical, and cultural landscape.
• Proven track record in crisis and issues management.
• Strong exposure to public policy, government, or regulatory communications.
