Head of Digital – Retail (MENA)

About the role

The Head of Digital will lead all digital operations for Al Futtaim Group’s retail business across the MENA region. Reporting to the Digital Managing Director, you will be accountable for strategy, customer experience, technology, and commercial performance of the Retail App, e‑commerce sites, marketplace partnerships and omnichannel initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Retail Digital strategy and roadmap, aligning with group priorities and regional market trends.
• Manage end‑to‑end digital channels—including the Retail App, e‑commerce platforms, marketplace collaborations and omnichannel projects—across UAE, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, KSA and Egypt.
• Drive service excellence, operational efficiency and commercial success while meeting budget and profit targets.
• Own P&L accountability for the digital portfolio, ensuring financial profitability and trade performance.
• Lead vendor management, legal compliance and strategic partnerships to support growth and innovation.
• Collaborate with Retail Leadership, Technology, and Central Retail teams to ensure consistency, economies of scale and performance across territories.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, including the Principal and functional leads, to align digital initiatives with overall business objectives.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in digital retail or e‑commerce across multiple markets.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue and profit growth.
• Ability to develop and lead high‑performing digital teams and operating models.
• Deep understanding of omnichannel strategies, marketplace ecosystems and customer journey optimisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, working with cross‑functional and regional leadership.
