Head of Finance

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the finance function for a leading entity in Abu Dubai. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will work in a small team and have the opportunity to make an immediate impact on financial strategy and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the overall finance function and ensure effective financial control.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Provide senior management with clear financial information, commercial insight and recommendations.
• Own the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting cycles and produce budget‑versus‑actual analysis.
• Develop financial models, scenarios and forward analysis of revenue, costs, cash flow and business performance.
• Lead the preparation of monthly and periodic management accounts and reporting packs for senior stakeholders.
• Oversee cash‑flow management, treasury activities and maintain accurate cash‑flow forecasts.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with standards and manage the external audit process.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams and challenge stakeholders on budgets and financial performance.
• Provide financial input into new initiatives, investments, contracts and business cases.
• Lead improvements to finance systems, reporting tools and processes, exploring AI and digital tools.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA, CPA or CMA.
• Previous experience working in an SME or start‑up environment.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to implement processes and best practices.
• Strong ERP knowledge.
