About the role

GEMS Wellington Academy Al Khail is seeking a dynamic Head of Geography to lead its Geography department in Dubai. This senior position offers the chance to shape curriculum, mentor staff, and drive academic excellence in a world‑class international school.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the day‑to‑day management of the Geography department.
• Design and implement high‑quality GCSE and A‑Level (or equivalent) programmes.
• Lead curriculum development aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
• Support and evaluate teaching staff to ensure outstanding learning outcomes.
• Coordinate extra‑curricular activities and contribute to the wider school community.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with a B.Ed. or relevant bachelor's degree and PGCE/PGDE or equivalent.
• Proven record of outstanding teaching and learning.
• Experience teaching GCSE/A‑Level (or equivalent) and, preferably, Sociology at Key Stage 5.
• Deep knowledge of the National Curriculum for England.
