Head of Legal – India, Middle East & UK

About the role

The Head of Legal will lead the legal function for Neterwala Group across India, the Middle East and the UK. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, the role provides strategic, commercially‑focused legal advice, ensures regulatory compliance and manages legal risk to support business growth and expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Group’s legal strategy, governance framework and risk register.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including customer, supplier, partnership, M&A, technology and employment agreements.
• Oversee litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, managing external counsel and legal spend.
• Ensure compliance with laws in India, the Middle East and the UK, and advise on corporate governance, licences and regulatory matters.
• Provide employment and labour law advice to HR and management, supporting restructurings and dispute handling.
• Advise on cross‑border transactions, support establishment of new entities and coordinate with local counsel.
• Protect and manage intellectual property, data protection and privacy matters.
• Promote ethical conduct, anti‑bribery and anti‑corruption compliance across the organisation.
• Appoint, evaluate and negotiate with external law firms to optimise legal spend.

Required profile

• LLB (mandatory) with an LLM or relevant postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 15+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering or a diversified multinational.
• Strong in‑house experience across commercial contracts, corporate law, litigation, compliance and risk management.
• Proven ability to work with CEOs, Boards and senior leadership.
• Experience managing legal matters across India and international jurisdictions, especially the Middle East and the UK.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
