Head of Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Head of Logistics to lead ocean freight rate supply, pricing, booking and operational execution for an early‑stage B2B SaaS platform that is transforming international freight forwarding with AI. The role sits at the intersection of commercial freight expertise and product development, driving the core quoting and booking engine.

Key responsibilities

• Own the rate‑supply strategy and manage relationships with regional carriers and NVOCCs across India–UAE.
• Lead the rate and operations desk, ensuring commercial competitiveness of quotes and accurate surcharge application.
• Act as the senior escalation point for operational issues and oversee day‑to‑day freight desk activities.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering and AI teams to translate real‑world freight knowledge into platform features.
• Continuously assess market dynamics, capacity, transit times and spot pricing to keep the engine up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• 7+ years of hands‑on ocean freight experience within a freight forwarder, NVOCC or carrier.
• Proven track record sourcing and negotiating FCL rates and managing a freight desk, branch or small operation.
• Strong existing relationships with NVOCCs and regional carriers across India–UAE.
• Deep understanding of ocean freight pricing, surcharges, capacity and transit times.
• Entrepreneurial, MVP/start‑up mindset with the ability to make rapid commercial judgments.
• Experience with rate‑management platforms such as CargoWise or Freightos is a plus.
• Fluency in Hindi or Arabic is advantageous.
