Head of Procurement (UAE National)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced procurement leader to design and standardise a group‑wide procurement strategy for a large diversified regional organisation operating in the FMCG sector. The role will work closely with senior stakeholders to drive sourcing excellence, supplier governance, cost optimisation and procurement transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a group‑wide procurement strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, governance frameworks and approval processes.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories.
• Drive supplier consolidation to maximise purchasing leverage and oversee major tenders, RFQs and contract negotiations.
• Set up supplier evaluation, performance management and risk assessment frameworks.
• Deliver cost‑saving, value‑engineering and procurement efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with governance, audit, regulatory and ethical standards.
• Standardise procurement processes through ERP and procurement systems such as SAP.
• Provide leadership, coaching and functional direction to procurement teams.

Required profile

• UAE National only.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or related field (MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification advantageous).
• Professional certification such as CIPS preferred.
• 12‑15 years of progressive procurement or supply‑chain experience, with senior leadership in large multi‑entity organisations.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, category management and supplier governance.
• Successful track record in high‑value contract negotiations and supplier consolidation.
• Experience with ERP and procurement systems (e.g., SAP).
• Exposure to manufacturing, FMCG, food production, agriculture or industrial sectors is preferred.
