Head of Smart Solutions

About the role

DP World is seeking a senior leader to head its Smart Solutions portfolio in Dubai. The role will drive the delivery of large‑scale AV/ELV projects, ensuring they meet cost, schedule, quality and safety targets while aligning with client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, execution and closure of all smart‑technology projects, guaranteeing delivery on time, within budget and to approved scope.
• Approve project schedules, methodologies, delivery strategies and control frameworks across the portfolio.
• Own cost control, margin protection, cash‑flow forecasting and budget‑vs‑actual performance with Project Managers.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks, manage variations and support invoicing and claims approvals.
• Plan, approve and optimise manpower, subcontractors and technical resources to ensure the right skill mix and utilisation.
• Ensure compliant procurement, monitor vendor performance, delivery schedules and scope adherence.
• Resolve escalated technical, site and resource issues, providing senior operational direction when required.
• Enforce quality standards, HSE compliance, regulatory inspections, audits and NCR closure.
• Act as senior operational interface for key clients and consultants, leading escalations and ensuring satisfaction.
• Monitor project KPIs (cost, schedule, quality, risk) and deliver accurate operational reporting to management.
• Implement standardized project controls, best practices and lessons learned to drive efficiency.
• Promote a high‑performance culture, lead PM review meetings and support business development with operational input.

Required profile

• Extensive experience delivering AV/ELV projects valued at USD 30‑50 million or more.
• Proven track record in managing large, multi‑disciplinary smart‑technology programmes.
• Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with strong knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and lead cross‑functional teams.
• Strong client‑facing and escalation management skills.
• Adaptability to implement and improve programme management systems.
