Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and ensuring the smooth operation of all building systems and equipment at Le Méridien Dubai. The role combines preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and guest service to maintain high standards of safety and comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Visually inspect equipment, identify shut‑off valves, and carry necessary tools on each shift.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Conduct surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Replace light bulbs, air‑conditioner filters, and perform basic equipment troubleshooting.
• Handle plumbing tasks such as plunging toilets and unclogging drains.
• Repair electrical components, replace switches and outlets, and program televisions.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Maintain interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
• Enter air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings via computer systems.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies and report any hazards.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to acquire additional technical knowledge on the job.
• Strong communication skills to interact with guests and shift teams.
• Professional appearance and commitment to confidentiality.
