Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor will lead a team of cleaning staff to ensure that all areas meet Emirates Flight Catering’s high standards for cleanliness, occupational health and food safety. The role combines operational planning, staff development and customer interaction to support smooth, efficient catering operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise employees to ensure adherence to cleaning specifications, occupational health standards and food safety requirements.
• Prepare and manage staff rosters to guarantee adequate manpower coverage for all assigned areas.
• Implement cost‑effective management practices and drive continuous improvements to meet business and financial objectives.
• Develop and evaluate staff performance through SOP training, performance reviews, on‑job orientation and probation management.
• Handle customer complaints, investigate dissatisfaction and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s food safety and quality management system and close out non‑conformances within required timeframes.
• Monitor proper use of equipment and chemicals, maintain an updated equipment list and enforce safe practices.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning tools, consumables and EK items, verifying receipts and updating the ERP system accurately.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent (mandatory); intermediate level food hygiene certificate (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of housekeeping experience, including at least 2 years supervising a team.
• High standard of verbal and written communication in English.
• Proven ability to supervise a multinational workforce and manage performance issues.
• Strong planning, organisational and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of BICS standards, IOSH and NEBOSH.
