HVAC Engineer – Design & Specification (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join our Abu Dhabi team. The role focuses on the design, specification, and coordination of HVAC systems for medium to large scale oil & gas and refinery projects in the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Perform heat load, ventilation, pressure drop, duct and pipe sizing calculations using Carrier HAP and ASHRAE standards.
• Prepare design basis, datasheets, technical specifications and evaluate vendor bids.
• Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, contractors and vendors to ensure design compliance.
• Select and size equipment such as chillers, air handling units, fans, pumps and cooling towers.
• Develop duct system designs using the Equal Friction method and produce airflow diagrams and D&ID’s.
• Review technical submittals, method statements and ensure adherence to project and local authority standards.
• Provide guidance to HVAC modelers and estimate bill of quantities for ducting, dampers and accessories.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years (96 months) of HVAC design experience, preferably in FEED and detailed engineering for oil & gas or refinery projects.
• Experience with medium to large projects in the Middle East; ADNOC experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA and other international standards.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high‑quality technical documentation.
