IDC-IT Ops Technician

About the role

The IDC‑IT Ops Technician will support the operation and maintenance of our data centre infrastructure for Alibaba Cloud services. Working on‑site in Dubai, the role involves executing work orders, handling server and network issues, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform data centre operations and maintenance tasks following standard operating procedures and ensuring SLA compliance.
• Diagnose and resolve server faults, coordinating repairs with vendors and maintaining Alibaba‑managed servers.
• Commission, troubleshoot, and perform basic cabling for network equipment, managing on‑site deployment and repairs.
• Conduct routine IDC inspections, report anomalies to the IT Team Leader or Service Operations Manager, and maintain documentation.

Required profile

• Associate degree or higher in IT Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• At least 1 year of on‑site IDC operations and maintenance experience.
• Fluent communication skills in English and either the local language or Chinese.
• Strong collaboration abilities across departments and teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with common server brands and hardware.
• Knowledge of network equipment, optical modules and fiber optics used in data centres.
• Rapid diagnosis of system, hardware and network faults.
