Innovation Officer

About the role

The Innovation Officer will drive the development and implementation of innovative solutions across the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). Working closely with the Mubader Team, the role focuses on fostering a culture of creativity, managing idea platforms, and supporting business units to translate concepts into tangible improvements aligned with the GCAA strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and stimulate innovation opportunities in collaboration with the Mubader Team.
• Manage and enhance idea‑management platforms, including internal employee contributions and external crowdsourcing.
• Organise workshops, brainstorming sessions and apply innovation tools to capture and document ideas.
• Support open‑innovation initiatives and monitor strategic innovation KPIs.
• Administer the Aeronnovation website and coordinate UAE Innovates Month activities.
• Maintain partnerships with industry, universities and research organisations to promote relevant research.
• Develop policies, systems and procedures for innovation governance and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare accurate functional reports and maintain proper document management.
• Perform additional tasks as required to achieve organisational objectives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in innovation management or related fields.
• Strong ability to work across multiple business units and facilitate collaborative sessions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Knowledge of aviation or civil‑aviation regulatory environments is advantageous.
• Ability to monitor, evaluate and report on innovation performance indicators.
