Inspector I – Quality (Welding & Coating)

About the role

Petrofac is seeking an Inspector I – Quality (Welding & Coating) to join its Abu Dhabi site. The role focuses on monitoring and inspecting welding and coating activities across process piping, steel structures, tanks, vessels and other metallic items to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report fabrication, installation, erection and testing processes for welding and coating works.
• Review welding procedure specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR) and weld maps.
• Witness welder qualifications and verify material and consumable traceability.
• Ensure welding consumable control system is implemented and consumables are stored and handled correctly.
• Check that welding equipment is serviceable and calibrated.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections during fabrication, construction and final stages.
• Prepare and review inspection reports, including fit‑up and final visual reports.
• Monitor contractor performance and verify personnel certifications.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 month of relevant experience in welding or coating inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret welding procedures, qualification records and project specifications.
• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate inspection documentation.
