Propulsion Engineer

About the role

Responsible primarily for compliance with all GCAA CAR-M and CAP-Ops 1 requirements related to Etihad aircraft engines to maintain continued airworthiness. Provides technical support to Maintenance, Technical Contracts, Warranty and Planning departments while ensuring cost‑effective engineering support for the engine/APU fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to internal departments on propulsion issues and issue/revise in‑house publications such as Technical Notices and Publication Amendments.
• Assess Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and produce Document Assessment Reports, Engineering Orders and fleet campaign plans.
• Support the Lead Engineer in program management of outsourced maintenance, engine modification standards and OEM liaison.
• Assist with engine/APU removal programmes, lease engine induction/return and review engine work‑scopes and deviations.
• Review Engine Health Monitoring reports, issue maintenance instructions and troubleshoot anomalies for the Maintenance Control Centre.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or ICAO Type 11 AMEL.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in aircraft engine/APU fleet management.

Required skills

• Knowledge of GCAA CAR‑M and CAP‑Ops 1 regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with engine types: TRENT 7000, TRENT XWB‑97, V2500, LEAP‑1A, GE90, GEnx, GP7200.
• Engine health monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Preparation of Technical Notices, Publication Amendments and Document Assessment Reports.
