Instructor – Global Awareness Courses

About the role

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Zayed University seeks qualified instructors to teach the required Global Awareness sequence of two courses on the Abu Dhabi campus. This full‑time position emphasizes student‑centered teaching, curriculum development, and contribution to the university’s core liberal‑arts program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver five courses per semester, primarily 100‑ and 200‑level humanities and social‑science surveys.
• Participate in ongoing curricular revision and design of the Global Awareness set menu.
• Integrate iPad and other computer technologies into classroom activities.
• Collaborate with faculty teams on multi‑section courses and support research initiatives.
• Engage diverse student populations, including those in an EFL environment.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Humanities or Social Sciences from an accredited university.
• Demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching and student‑centered learning.
• Experience fostering reading, writing, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural setting and fluency in English.
• Commitment to promoting humanities and social sciences to non‑majors.

Required skills

• Proficiency in integrating computer technology into curriculum.
• Familiarity with iPad‑based instructional tools.
