Instrument Technician – Support (Oil & Gas)

About the role

The Instrument Technician (Support) will be responsible for maintaining and calibrating control valves and field instruments on offshore oil and gas facilities. The role includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and supporting start‑up and commissioning activities to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct calibration and overhauling of control valves and field instruments, recording data for future reference.
• Attend to breakdowns and perform corrective actions in accordance with procedures.
• Carry out preventive maintenance across all plant locations according to defined schedules.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, hydraulic control, electro‑mechanical and other control system components.
• Perform testing, installation, inspection, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, start‑up and operation support activities.
• Check instrument material quantities in the warehouse for emergency purposes.
• Assist in equipment start‑up and commissioning after maintenance to ensure smooth re‑commencement of operations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Instrumentation & Control Engineering (minimum).
• At least 5 years of experience maintaining field instruments and control systems in the oil and gas industry.
• Ability to work offshore with a 30‑day paid leave cycle after 150 days of continuous work.
