Internal Auditor

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Internal Auditor to join our commodity trading firm. The role combines traditional audit duties with a strong focus on data analytics, automation and emerging AI‑enabled techniques to enhance risk management and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute risk‑based internal audits across trading, operations and support functions, including walkthroughs, control testing and root‑cause analysis.
• Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks and regulatory compliance specific to commodity trading.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, fraud indicators and opportunities for automation, and prepare clear, actionable audit reports for senior management.
• Develop and maintain audit analytics using Power BI, advanced Excel and Python to detect anomalies and trends in large data sets.
• Support continuous auditing initiatives and build automated testing routines.
• Integrate AI‑assisted tools for data mining, document review and predictive risk analysis, and evaluate related governance and cybersecurity risks.
• Collaborate with traders, risk managers, IT and other stakeholders to track remediation of findings and report to the Audit Committee.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3–5 years of internal audit experience, preferably in commodity trading; Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of the IIA framework, internal controls and risk management.
• Professional certification such as CIA, CPA or CISA is highly desirable.
