IT Business Applications Manager – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

We are looking for an IT Business Applications Manager to take ownership of an operational application portfolio for a leading Abu Dhabi business in the transportation and aviation sector. The role combines application service management, business analysis and continuous improvement, working closely with operational teams, technology colleagues and external vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of operational business applications, overseeing support, performance and lifecycle management.
• Manage BAU support, incidents, escalations and recurring issues, coordinating internal teams and vendors.
• Monitor SLAs and vendor service performance, driving corrective actions and service improvements.
• Work with business users to understand processes, challenge requirements and define application enhancements.
• Translate business needs into functional requirements and prioritized delivery plans.
• Coordinate testing, UAT, changes and releases while minimising disruption to live operations.
• Resolve integration, API, data‑flow and application issues with vendors and technical teams.
• Maintain application roadmaps and prioritize fixes, enhancements and lifecycle requirements.

Required profile

• Strong experience in business applications management or application service ownership in a live, business‑critical environment.
• Proven responsibility for post‑go‑live support, incident handling, vendor management and ongoing enhancements.
• Solid business analysis skills with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and deliver workable solutions.
• Practical understanding of service management, SLAs and incident/problem management processes.
