Laundry Manager

About the role

The Laundry Manager will lead the laundry department at Desert Islands Resort & Spa, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, efficiency and guest satisfaction. This role combines operational oversight with staff development in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of laundry and team member areas at all times.
• Enforce health and safety requirements, including proper use and storage of chemicals.
• Coach, orient and train new team members, providing ongoing development.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and oversee linen, towel and uniform inventory.
• Monitor and adjust par levels to align with current inventory needs.
• Promote a motivational work environment and foster positive inter‑departmental relations.
• Implement waste‑reduction measures and control overtime through effective management.
• Support special projects such as new hotel openings, VIP requirements and event catering.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing laundry operations in a hotel or resort setting.
• Strong leadership and team‑building abilities.
• Excellent knowledge of health, safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and manage supplier relationships.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
