Lead Applied Scientist

About the role

Inception42, a G42 company, is seeking a visionary Lead Applied Scientist to spearhead advanced AI research and guide multidisciplinary teams in developing transformative deep‑learning and generative AI solutions. The role involves architecting next‑generation AI systems, driving innovation pipelines, and mentoring scientists and engineers to deliver high‑impact applications.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive Inception’s applied AI research roadmap, identifying emerging technologies and methodologies.
• Architect and oversee development of next‑generation generative and deep‑learning models integrating vision, language, audio, and sensor data.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to achieve ambitious R&D milestones.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to translate research into deployable, enterprise‑grade AI systems.
• Ensure model scalability, reliability, and efficiency through rigorous experimentation and optimization.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering or AI‑related discipline with specialization in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, NLP or Multimodal AI.
• 10–12 years of experience in AI research and product development, including at least 3 years leading R&D teams or major AI projects.
• Proven expertise in designing and deploying large‑scale AI models and systems.
• Track record of research contributions such as publications, patents or industry innovations.
