Lead Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Discovered MENA is building an AI Hub that turns cutting‑edge research into production‑grade services. As Lead Machine Learning Engineer you will steer both the Machine Learning Engineering and MLOps teams, ensuring that models and agents are deployed, monitored, and governed at enterprise scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of ML Engineers and MLOps Engineers, standardising practices and aligning delivery timelines.
• Define the roadmap for an enterprise AI platform that bridges experimental modelling and automated, high‑throughput production.
• Partner with data‑science groups to convert prototypes into robust, scalable services and manage resource allocation.
• Work with platform teams to set ML quality, release standards, roll‑back procedures, shadow testing, canary deployments and automated verification.
• Enforce governance for model compliance, bias detection, explainability, audit trails and security protocols.

Required profile

• 8‑12+ years of experience in software engineering, ML modelling or MLOps, with at least 3 years in a direct engineering‑management or technical‑leadership role.
• Proven track record scaling AI products from prototype to mission‑critical production under strict regulatory standards.
• Dual expertise in deep‑learning models (LLMs, agentic frameworks, RAG) and large‑scale systems design.
• Experience with security patterns in highly regulated sectors such as banking or finance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (Master’s/PhD preferred).
