Lead Performance Engineer - Enterprise Data & Analytics

About the role

As a Lead Performance Engineer within Emirates Group’s Analytics Centre of Excellence, you will ensure the performance, availability, scalability and reliability of a suite of enterprise data and analytics products. You will work across big-data, data-warehouse and BI platforms, partnering with architecture, development and site-reliability teams to embed performance testing early in the delivery cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the full performance‑engineering lifecycle: requirement gathering, design, scripting, execution, analysis, tuning and reporting.
• Collaborate with architecture and solution design teams to embed performance considerations into product designs.
• Define and track non‑functional requirements (NFRs) for each feature and ensure they are reflected in sprint backlogs.
• Develop and execute performance test strategies for big‑data, data‑warehouse and BI applications, using realistic workload models.
• Identify bottlenecks, provide tuning recommendations and work with platform and application teams to implement improvements.
• Enhance observability of data platforms by working with monitoring and reliability teams.
• Promote a performance‑driven culture, enabling faster testing and higher quality releases.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in performance engineering or performance testing.
• Strong understanding of big‑data, data‑warehouse and BI architectures.
• Proven ability to translate non‑functional requirements into actionable test plans.
