Lead Structural Engineer Design Review

About the role

KEO Group is looking for a Lead Structural Engineer to head design‑review activities for complex steel and reinforced‑concrete projects across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The role demands deep expertise in advanced structural systems and the ability to provide independent technical assessments that ensure safety and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead independent technical design reviews of complex steel and reinforced‑concrete building structures.
• Assess advanced steel systems such as long‑span structures, special connections, composite systems, steel trusses and atypical configurations.
• Conduct CAT‑2/CAT‑3 level reviews, perform self‑check calculations and verify safety, stability and code compliance.
• Review calculations, drawings, specifications, design assumptions and supporting documentation.
• Evaluate soil‑structure interaction, settlement predictions and lateral soil pressure.
• Review façade structural systems, including unitized, stick, steel‑supported and tension‑based solutions.
• Ensure designs meet international standards (SBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, BS/Eurocodes, IBC, ASTM).
• Prepare detailed review reports, technical memoranda and recommendations.
• Provide technical support during tendering, construction, design development and value‑engineering phases.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants and contractors to resolve complex interface issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum 20 years of professional experience in structural engineering, with a strong focus on steel structures.
• Proven experience leading high‑level design reviews for large‑scale building projects.
