Lead Technical Safety Engineer Offshore

About the role

KBR is seeking a Lead Technical Safety Engineer to oversee safety engineering activities for onshore and offshore oil & gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves directing process‑safety studies, supporting brownfield assessments, and providing engineering data for design and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all Technical Safety Engineering tasks across concept, FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Develop, review and approve calculations, data sheets, technical notes, specifications and drawings.
• Facilitate and lead multidisciplinary workshops such as PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and LOPA, and ensure follow‑up on recommendations.
• Act as the single point of contact for safety engineering, ensuring compliance with client requirements, international codes and project schedules.
• Travel to ADNOC offshore sites on a rotational basis to conduct surveys, verify installations and gather project‑specific data.

Required profile

• Valid OPITO‑approved T‑BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications with at least six months remaining.
• Extensive experience in process safety engineering for oil & gas developments.
• Strong knowledge of international codes, standards, procedures and specifications.
• Proven ability to lead safety workshops and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
