Learning & Development Manager

About the role

The Learning & Development Manager will lead the design, delivery and evaluation of training programmes for Fairmont The Palm, a luxury resort in Dubai. Reporting to the Director of Talent & Culture, the role ensures that all Heartists receive the skills and knowledge needed to uphold the hotel’s high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the management team to ensure departmental orientation processes and new‑hire training are in place.
• Supervise ongoing training initiatives, record them and conduct training sessions when required.
• Coordinate and facilitate the new‑hire orientation programme to create a positive first impression.
• Develop an annual training plan aligned with performance appraisals and the hotel’s objectives.
• Liaise regularly with department heads to identify specific training needs and monitor attendance.
• Structure and monitor the annual training budget in partnership with the Director of Talent & Culture.
• Identify training needs from guest feedback, surveys and other sources.
• Publish and communicate a quarterly training calendar to maximise participation.
• Develop, source and deliver training courses scheduled in the calendar.
• Maintain accurate records of all training activities and evaluate their effectiveness.

Required profile

• Previous leadership experience in Learning & Development within the hospitality sector.
• Knowledge of luxury hotel standards and service expectations.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to train, develop and motivate team members.
• Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications.
