Lifeguard – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated Lifeguard to join the recreation team at Beach Rotana in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will ensure the safety of guests in the swimming area, provide first‑aid assistance, and maintain pool facilities to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor swimming areas, caution guests about unsafe zones and rescue swimmers in distress.
• Administer first aid and provide emergency care until medical services arrive.
• Test and maintain water quality, including chlorine levels and pH, using a water‑testing kit.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool, deck, sun loungers, umbrellas and ensure proper positioning and safety of equipment.
• Conduct swimming meets, give swimming instructions and ensure pool temperature meets set standards.
• Keep the pool deck free of debris and ensure umbrellas are securely tied down when not in use.

Required profile

• Professional swimmer with a qualified lifeguard certification.
• Diploma or university degree, preferably with hotel industry experience.
• Physically fit, able to work long hours outdoors.
• Good command of English and strong interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Water testing (chlorine & pH measurement).
• First aid and emergency response.
• Lifeguard rescue techniques.
• Swimming instruction.
