Load Planner – Aviation Weight & Balance

About the role

The Load Planner ensures accurate weight and balance documentation for all Etihad flights, coordinating with internal teams, government agencies and service providers. This role is critical to maintaining regulatory compliance and operational excellence while optimizing aircraft payload and fuel efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan load for various aircraft types in line with company and airline weight‑and‑balance requirements.
• Create flight files, calculate estimated zero‑fuel weight, and produce Loading Instruction Reports (LIR), preliminary and final load‑trim sheets, and related documentation.
• Optimize payload and fuel uplift by using appropriate ULD configurations and load distribution to meet CG targets.
• Verify that all weight‑and‑balance criteria are satisfied before issuing LIR and load‑trim sheets, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Provide timely weight information to flight crew, dispatch and other airlines for flight planning and closure.
• Communicate and coordinate with turnaround, cargo handling, ramp, passenger services and flight crew stakeholders.
• Generate post‑flight messages (CPM, LDM, UCM) and report hazards or occurrences.

Required profile

• Secondary school education minimum.
• At least 2 years of experience in a customer‑service or load‑planning role.
• Proficient spoken and written English.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
