Logistics Officer – Customs & Trade Compliance

About the role

JD.com is seeking a detail‑oriented Logistics Officer to oversee customs documentation, clearance and compliance for its import and export activities across the UAE and GCC region. The role ensures smooth shipment processing, regulatory adherence and high client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and submit customs documents such as invoices, air waybills, packing lists and HS codes in line with UAE and international trade regulations.
• Use JDL and other customs platforms to manage documentation and ensure compliance with UAE, GCC and global trade laws, including bonded zones.
• Handle clearance for air, sea and land shipments (FCL, LCL, break bulk, B2B, B2C) and coordinate with customs authorities, free zones and mainland UAE.
• Calculate customs duties and taxes, process payments and maintain reconciled financial records.
• Prepare invoices for duties, taxes and clearance fees, working with finance to resolve disputes.
• Serve as the primary client contact for customs procedures, duty obligations and shipment updates.
• Monitor shipments from port to warehouse, manage cross‑border logistics and coordinate truck allocation and tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics, customs clearance and trade compliance within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE customs regulations, GCC trade laws and HS code classification.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JDL and other customs/billing systems.
