Logistics Officer – Customs & Trade Compliance (UAE/GCC)

About the role

JD.com is seeking a detail‑oriented Logistics Officer to manage customs documentation, clearance and compliance for its import/export operations across the UAE and GCC region. The role ensures seamless shipment processing, regulatory adherence and high client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and submit accurate customs documentation (invoices, air waybills, packing lists, HS codes) in line with UAE customs regulations and international trade standards.
• Use JDL and other customs platforms to manage documentation and ensure compliance with UAE, GCC and international trade laws, including bonded zones and exemptions.
• Handle import/export clearance for air, sea and land shipments (FCL, LCL, break bulk, B2B, B2C), coordinating with customs authorities, free zones and mainland UAE.
• Calculate and process customs duties and taxes, ensure timely payments and maintain reconciled financial records.
• Prepare invoices for duties, taxes and clearance fees; coordinate with finance to resolve disputes and secure collections.
• Serve as the primary client contact for customs procedures, duty obligations and shipment updates, liaising with officials, freight forwarders and vendors.
• Monitor shipments from port to warehouse, manage GCC cross‑border logistics and coordinate truck allocation and tracking.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics, customs clearance and trade compliance within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE customs regulations, GCC trade laws and HS code classification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDL and other customs/billing systems.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.
