Manager, Examinations and Student Assessment

About the role

RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU) is recruiting a Manager for Examinations and Student Assessment for its Office of Academic Assessment and Evaluation in Ras Al Khaimah. The manager leads a team responsible for planning and managing student assessments and examinations, including question banks, examination delivery, marking and results processing, and supports the use of digital assessment systems and responsible AI in assessment.

Required profile

• Master's degree (minimum) in Education, Medical Education, Educational Measurement, Management, Assessment, Curriculum, Institutional Effectiveness, Educational Psychology or a closely related discipline; a doctorate with relevant professional certification or training in assessment, psychometrics, project management, data analytics or AI implementation is an advantage.
• At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in higher education, academic assessment, quality assurance, institutional effectiveness, educational measurement, examination management or a related area.
• At least 5 years in a senior management, leadership or supervisory role within a higher education institution or university.
• Valid passport.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience in student examination management, including item analysis, question-bank management, results processing and examination quality assurance.
• Knowledge of examination blueprinting, standard setting, assessment governance and examination security.
• Experience improving digital assessment processes, with proficiency in assessment software, student information systems, learning management systems and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of responsible AI use, including data confidentiality, bias risks and human oversight, and ability to evaluate AI pilots and train staff; experience integrating AI or data analytics into student assessment is preferred.
• Leadership, coaching, collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to manage change, interpret assessment data and work extended hours during examination periods.
• Experience in a medical or health sciences college, or with international or licensing examinations such as NBME, is an added advantage.
