Manufacturing Finance Specialist

About the role

The Manufacturing Finance Specialist will manage financial tracking, governance and reporting of Non‑Recurring Engineering (NRE) and New Product Introduction (NPI) costs for EDGE’s drone development programmes, ensuring spend is captured, capitalised and controlled in line with IAS 38.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts and cost plans.
• Lead month‑end settlement of development and prototype production orders in SAP/EBS CO, allocating NPI actuals to the correct program and cost object.
• Coordinate with FP&A to feed development costs into entity‑level cash flow, month‑end close and project settlement processes.
• Manage IAS 38 R&D cost capitalization end‑to‑end, maintaining asset schedules, triggers and amortisation profiles.
• Monitor actual costs against budgets, investigate variances and track manufacturing, NRE and NPI costs across programmes.
• Analyse material, labour and overhead costs to identify savings and support product costing and standard costing.
• Prepare cost analysis, business cases, make‑or‑buy studies and capital investment appraisals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounts/Finance.
• 5‑6 years of cost accounting experience in NPI/R&D finance.
• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA or equivalent) with strong knowledge of IAS 38.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SAP CO/EBS for development order settlement.
• Knowledge of IAS 38 cost capitalization and amortisation.
• Cost accounting, cost architecture and make‑or‑buy analysis.
