Material Control Specialist

About the role

The Material Control Specialist will manage the end‑to‑end logistics of material acquisition, storage, and distribution for a USAF contract. This includes creating specifications, handling purchase orders, receiving and issuing material, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain training programs, including NexGen system training, and review them quarterly.
• Coordinate with shops and flight chiefs to determine fiscal year purchasing requirements and maintain adequate stock levels.
• Conduct regular inventories, remove obsolete items, and develop procedures for material handling during non‑standard hours and system outages.
• Create and process Purchase Orders and Purchase Requests in NexGen, assign warehouse locations, and load inventory items into the NexGen database.
• Prepare reports, slides, and briefings on stock levels, spend rates, and order status for management and the customer.

Required profile

• Must obtain and maintain a SECRET Government Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with Government or military personnel and knowledge of supply chain regulations.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, especially Excel with macros, formulas, pivot tables and charts.
• Data analysis and presentation creation.
• Proficiency with NexGen IT system, SBSS and DEAMS data‑entry platforms.
• Licensed operation of 6K and 10K forklifts.
