Material Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Material Controller to join our project team at Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory. You will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, inspection, tracking, and distribution of materials throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring they are available when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Manage receipt, storage, preservation, and distribution of client‑supplied materials on‑site.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for timely inspection of incoming materials.
• Analyse inventory data to identify shortages and work‑front requirements.
• Track material orders and maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, inspections, receipts, issuance, and transfers.
• Work with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, and Site Teams to forecast material needs for upcoming phases.
• Maintain up‑to‑date material registers, inventory records, and tracking systems.
• Ensure compliance with project procedures, quality standards, HSE requirements, and client specifications.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in material control, inventory management, or supply chain within a project environment.
• Strong coordination skills with Project, Engineering, QA/QC, Procurement, and Client teams.
