Material Planner

About the role

ABB is seeking a Material Planner to lead end‑to‑end inventory planning for its Electrification business in the United Arab Emirates. The role will ensure optimal stock levels, support internal customer service, and drive efficient replenishment through close collaboration with buyers and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define inventory policies and segmentation to meet business targets.
• Calculate and maintain safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times and replenishment strategies in SAP APO and ERP systems.
• Convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders, coordinating with operations buyers and service teams.
• Collaborate with suppliers to improve on‑time delivery, minimum order quantities, quality, lead time and flexibility.
• Respond to internal customer service inquiries and monitor inventory performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in inventory planning, demand planning or related supply‑chain functions.
• Process‑oriented mindset with focus on standardisation and best practices.
• Strong analytical, computational and business acumen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
